We typically use at least one or a combination of goat’s milk, shea butter, clear glycerin, and/or pure-castile soap bases in our homemade soaps. Each base brings its own unique benefits:
- Goat’s Milk Soap Base: Goat's milk is gentle on the skin and naturally high in vitamins like A, which helps to nourish and repair. Its lactic acid content also provides mild exfoliation, promoting softer, smoother skin.
- Shea Butter Soap Base: Shea butter is deeply moisturizing and packed with essential fatty acids and vitamins E and F, which support skin elasticity and healing. It’s especially soothing for dry, sensitive, or irritated skin.
- Clear Glycerin Soap Base: Glycerin is a humectant, which means it draws moisture into the skin and helps maintain hydration. This base is ideal for a clean, refreshing feel and is often used to showcase beautiful colors or botanical inclusions in transparent soap designs.
- Pure-Castile Soap Base: Made from vegetable oils like olive and coconut, pure-castile soap is biodegradable, non-toxic, and gentle enough for all skin types. It offers a clean rinse and a simple, natural option for those seeking minimal ingredients.
In all of our soaps, we include Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which is used to create foamy bubbles when lathered under water and ensures that you clean off any unwanted dirt and oils on the skin.
We also include a combination of emollients in our soaps, such as coconut oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, palm oil, sweet almond oil, calendula oil, shea butter, sodium lactate, and vitamin E. The purpose of emollients is to soothe, soften, and boost the moisture levels in the skin.
To create vibrant colors, we use skin-safe mica pigment powders that are non-toxic and gentle on the skin. Our fragrance oils are also formulated to be skin-safe; however, if you have sensitive skin or allergies, we recommend doing a small patch test before regular use.
